The butterflies are developing now as my next big race is approaching - the 44 mile 'Country to Capital' race. This is a one day run starting at Wendover, following a variety of public footpaths and minor roads before joining the Grand Union canal for the run to Paddington in London. As with any run of this length my strategy is to start steadily and just keep going. There are five checkpoints so the best approach is to treat this as six consecutive runs varying between 6 and 10 miles in length. The whole thing then seems much more manageable. My aim is to finish this in about 10 hours. This is the first time this particular event has been run so it will be interesting to see how well the organisation works.
